FAQ

Absolutely! It has a steel skeleton that runs along the entire underside as well as the front of the Twistboxes. The attachment of the product to the roof of the car takes place in the steel – which guarantees high strength even during panic braking at high speed. The steel frame also prevents loosely packed items in the box from flying out through the front.

We think our solution is safer than other products on the market that is made of plastic or fiberglass – which may crack in case of high stress.

Certainly! Twistboxes remains stable whether it’s loaded up or empty – no wobbling while you drive.

Yes, it’s equipped with UV50+ protection, making it almost sun-resistant. However, like all materials, it might fade over time. It’s a good idea not to expose it to strong sunlight for prolonged periods.

Twistboxes is made of waterproof fabric. Though, if it rains heavily, always pack sensitive items in waterproof bags.

Gen3 weighs 16,4 kg.

Yes!

It is both lighter and has lower air resistance than other roof boxes of the same size. In an independent test, air resistance was 25% lower than a comparable traditional roof box. Add to that – Twistboxes can be easily folded on the roof and transported flat when empty, which provides minimal air resistance.

It’s been tested in extreme conditions, enduring heavy snowfall and temperatures as low as -35°C.

It fits all market roof racks. Mount using the “quick mount”, recommended with 4 T-bolts and 4 Twistboxes mounts. Alternatively, use 4 U-clamps with 8 Twistboxes mounts, depending on your rack’s design. Maximum width for racks without a T-rail is 7 cm since the included U-clamp is 8 cm wide.

Mount it on your roof rack with Twistboxes’ unique fittings. Se our instruction page for more info.

Absolutely! Check it in as regular luggage; it’s compact and lighter than most suitcases.

The length of the roof box is 2 meters. But you can put in much longer items than that. This is done by not pulling the back zip – then, for example, your long skis can stick out.

There are fastening straps inside the roof box that you then attach the skates to to prevent them from slipping out.

No, it is very difficult to open with a knife or other tools. The fabric, which is very strong, is on both the inside and outside of the box, i.e. double-sided. Between the fabrics, there is a stainless steel plate at the bottom and a 3 mm thick plastic in the roof and sides, which is also lined. It makes it impossible to easily cut open a Twistboxes.

Yes you can. It works with a padlock and cable in the right length. This is available as an accessory.

No, but the fabric and zippers are waterproof. But in heavy rein, water can get in!

Twistboxes do not limit the speed of your vehicle. Rather, the limitation lies in the maximum permitted speed the vehicle can handle. Don’t forget to follow the speed sign!

Clean the box inside and out with soap and water only. Use a soft cloth to avoid scratches. Make sure the product is dry before rolling it up and storing it to avoid mold growth.
